Tim Tapper is the membrane production leader for FilmTec Corporation, a part of Dow Water  & Process Solutions, based in Edina, Minn. He is responsible for the performance of the Membrane Department in meeting business requirements regarding Environmental, Health & Safety and Produce to Plan, while staying within budget.

Prior to being the membrane production leader, Tapper served in the AMEC/Aqua 40 production leader role in Edina. Tapper is a 28-year employee at Dow, and has held a variety of engineering roles in fabrication, testing and design along with a variety of supervision roles. Some engineering projects that Tapper has been instrumental in include formally documenting disposition of membrane and element performance, implementation of the first bar code system, design and implementation of the first 'automated' test bench, implementation of fibertape in elements, design and implementation of FilmTec's current element interconnector design.

Tapper began his career as a quality control technician. He holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Minnesota.
