Kurt Buchanan is the responsible care leader for FilmTec Corporation, a division of Dow Water & Process Solutions, located in Edina, Minn. He is responsible for overseeing and directing the Environmental, Health, Safety, Security and Emergency Response activities at the Edina facilities. Buchanan is an active member of the Eden Prairie Fire Department, serving in the position of lieutenant. He is also a member of the Edina Crime Prevention Fund.
A 23 year employee of The Dow Chemical Company, Buchanan has held a variety of responsibilities including maintenance leader in Edina, engineering and maintenance leader for DowAgrosciences in Harbor Beach, Mich., and engineering leader for Dow Chemical in Midland, Mich. Buchanan began his career as a design engineer in Dow's Michigan Division.
Buchanan holds a bachelor of engineering in electrical engineering degree from Youngstown State University in Ohio.
