King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST)
Dow is a proud partner with KAUST, a leading graduate-level institution, and the realization of the vision of Saudi King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to transform Saudi Arabia into a knowledge-based economy. Dow is committed to driving economic growth, encouraging professional development, and enriching the intellectual and research experience in Saudi Arabia.
Dow has committed to a multi-year, multi-million dollar research and development (R&D) framework that includes a founding partnership in the University's hallmark economic development program, the Industrial Collaboration Program. Dow has also committed to build the Dow Middle East R&D Center (expected completion 2010), where initial research will focus on water and water treatment technologies. The Center will also financially and intellectually support thesis research, technology research challenges, and programs that develop and train Saudi talent.
Young Arab Leaders (YAL)
Young Arab Leaders (YAL) is a network of prominent Arab men and women, eager to trigger positive change in the Middle East and across the world. The organization aims to bridge the awareness gap between the region and the rest of the world by establishing long-term networks of cooperation between young Arab and American leaders on a large spectrum of industries and fields, including business, media, government, and non-government organizations.
Through its philanthropic arm, The Dow Chemical Company Foundation, Dow signed a two-year agreement with Young Arab Leaders in December 2007 to support the organization's inspiring endeavor, The Global Action Program. The Dow Chemical Company Foundation pledged its support of the Arab and American Dialogue Program, an umbrella program created to expose young Arabs and Americans to each culture's respective business and cultural practices.
Lothan Youth Achievement Center (LoYAC)
The Lothan Youth Achievement Center (LoYAC) is a non-profit organization founded in Kuwait in 2002. The organization caters to children and young community members between the ages of 13 and 27, promoting critical thinking, innovation, entrepreneurship, community service work, health awareness, environmental awareness, leadership, and drama, music, and performing arts.
Through its charitable arm, The Dow Chemical Company Foundation, Dow's support of LoYAC's programs and activities include: Dow's sole partnership of the 'F1 Schools Challenge' and various productions by 'LoYAC Academy of Performing Arts'. In addition to supporting all of LoYAC's youth developmental programs in Kuwait and abroad, Dow also supports LoYAC's Part-Time Program for work internships as well as various interactive activities by LoYAC that focus on Music, Artizana (arts & crafts), Poetry, Creativity, and Sports.
Emirates Environmental Group (EEG)
In February 2008, Dow was presented an EEG annual award, which recognized Dow's commitment to protecting the environment and participation in EEG's initiatives.
Emirates Diving Association (EDA)
As a complement to Dow's 2015 Sustainability Goals, Dow has participated in several events with EDA since early 2007. In December 2007, the association recognized Dow by granting an award for the Company's commitment to protecting what is precious to the local community.
