Utrecht, The Netherlands - April 19, 2010
Dow Microbial Control, a business group of The Dow Chemical Company (Dow) and global leader in hygiene and disinfection solutions, will showcase its expertise and introduce local leadership during VIV Europe in Utrecht, The Netherlands, April 20 to 22, 2010 (Dow Microbial Control Booth 8.F065).
Dow Microbial Control recently strengthened its presence in Europe with the addition of José Mosquera and Michal Drozdowski. Mosquera is the strategic marketing manager for the hygiene and disinfection solutions, personal care, household and I&I (industrial and institutional) segments. He is responsible for leading the strategic development and implementation of global market plans. Drozdowski, regional commercial manager for Central Eastern Europe and Turkey, leads business activities such as sales deployment, technical sales and strategic partnerships and alliances locally. Both Mosquera and Drozdowski joined Dow in 2009 as part of the Rohm & Haas acquisition.
Mosquera and Drozdowski will be joined at VIV Europe by Per Westin, regional commercial manager, to share knowledge about Dow Microbial Control's products for defending and protecting farms and preventing deadly animal diseases. Specifically, Dow Microbial Control will showcase GLUTEX™ animal hygiene solutions for use in farm animal, swine and poultry housing facilities, hatcheries and associated equipment, as well as industrial equipment and buildings. The GLUTEX product line has demonstrated effectiveness in a variety of locations throughout the farm including:
- Farm animal and poultry housing facilities: animal processing areas, barns and farrowing areas and general farm housing areas.
- Industrial equipment: mixing and product packaging equipment, transfer lines and storage tanks. GLUTEX™ sanitizers contain the highly effective microbiocide glutaraldehyde, which has a very low corrosion rate, making it particularly effective for use on industrial equipment and farm vehicles.
- Transportation: trucks wheels and tires, tractors, catch cages, floor mats, aluminum truck flooring and trailers.
- Flooring and walls: breeder, pullet, broiler, layer and turkey houses, floors, walls and ducts.
- Hatcheries: setter rooms, hatchers, egg rooms, hatching trays, tray washers, racks, boxes, chick processing facilities and equipment.
Dow Microbial Control's GLUTEX products target pathogens that cause deadly animal viruses, helping to control harmful microorganisms before they spread. They are used for a broad range of sanitizing applications, including gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria and fungi, and protect against a variety of viruses pathogenic to animals, such as avian influenza (H5N1 and H6N2), aspergillus fumigates, salmonella cholerasuis, pseudomonas aeruginosa, SARS associated coronavirus, klebsiella pneumonia, staphylococcus aureus and infectious bursal disease (IBD).
“Our GLUTEX sanitizers have proven efficacy, with independent research data showing positive results against major poultry and animal viruses, including avian influenza (H5N1/H6N2),” Mosquera said. “GLUTEX sanitizers are a key component to establishing an efficacious and comprehensive biosecurity program that treats bacteria, viruses and fungi to control deadly animal diseases, contributing to successful farm operations.”
Dow Microbial Control offers comprehensive resources to help support our customers' animal biosecurity programs -- including experience in Europe's regulatory environment -- delivered at a local level through customer application centers in Valbonne, France; Buchs, Switzerland; and Horgen, Switzerland.
