Mark Henning
Global General Manager
Mark Henning is the global general manager for Dow Microbial Control (DMC). In this role, he is responsible for global business strategy, operations, capital expense, budget, commercial, and research and development (R&D). Mark ensures all functions, departments and geographies deliver results in support of a strategy of sustainable, profitable growth.
Mark has been a part of Dow for more than 27 years. Before becoming the leader of DMC in 2009, he was general manager of Dow Biocides from 2004 to 2009. From 2001 to 2004, Mark served as chief operating officer and executive vice president for ANGUS Chemical Company, and was named chief executive officer of the company in 2004.
In addition, Mark held previous roles at Dow as the global business director for Performance Foams and global business director for the Engineered Laminates business, as well as a position in Polystyrene Films production at the Licking River Films Center in Hebron, Ohio. Mark joined Dow in 1983 as an engineer at the Joliet, Ill. manufacturing plant.
Beyond his role for DMC, Mark is also the site leader for The Dow Chemical Company business and R&D Center in Buffalo Grove, Ill., and serves as chairman of the board of two Dow affiliated companies, ChemiHaas (Jiangsu) Manufacturing Co. in China and Viance LLC. in the United States. In addition, he is on the Dean's Advisory Board for the University of Wisconsin College of Engineering, and is chairman of the development subcommittee.
Mark earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He also holds a certificate of completion from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business, Partnership for Management Development, as well as a certificate from the University of Oxford, Templeton College Advanced Management Programme.
He is based in Buffalo Grove, Ill., United States.

Suzanne M. Carroll,
Global Commercial Director
Suzanne M. Carroll is the global commercial director for Dow Microbial Control (DMC). In this role Suzanne oversees all customer-facing activities for the world's leading antimicrobial solutions business, including a network of regional Customer Application Centers (CAC), which feature dedicated application and challenge testing laboratories, cutting-edge equipment and on-site formulation experts who help solve microbial control problems for customers around the globe. Dow Microbial Control's CACs are based close to customers in key regions worldwide, including North America, Latin America, Eastern and Western Europe, Middle East, India, Japan/Korea, China and Southeast Asia.
Suzanne holds a BS honors degree in Chemistry from Saint Joseph's University. She started her career at Rohm and Haas in Adhesives Research in 1990 where she spent 9 years as a Research Scientist and Project Leader focused on designing acrylic polymers for pressure-sensitive adhesives. During this time Suzanne earned the prestigious Otto Haas Award for Technical Excellence and was chosen for a Market Research Consulting Apprenticeship with the Martec Group in 1999.
Since 2000, she has held roles of increasing responsibility in sales, marketing and new business development, serving the tape, label, caulk and sealant, electronic adhesives, flexible packaging, and plastic additive industries. This includes roles as the Global Commercial Manager for Biodiesel in the Ion Exchange Resin business and most recently as the Global Marketing Director for Dow Performance Materials.
She is located in Philadelphia, Pa., United States.

Prashant S. Chintawar,
Global Marketing Director
Prashant S. Chintawar is Global Marketing Director for Dow Microbial Control (DMC). In this capacity, he directs all marketing, strategic planning, product line management, business communication and branding activities of DMC across a variety of applications, including energy, water, hygiene, personal care, paint and coatings, and industrial.
Prior to joining The Dow Chemical Company in 2011, Prashant was Director of Global Business Development at BASF, where he led the launch of the lithium ion battery materials business. His previous experience includes an Executive Director of Marketing and Sales position with Nuvera Fuel Cells, Inc. – a leading alternate energy company – and Consultant with Arthur D. Little, Inc., which was the world's first management consulting company and also a leading technology consulting firm.
Prashant has a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from The University of Akron in Akron, Ohio and has completed the Finance for Technical Executive program from MIT Sloan School of Management in Cambridge, Mass.
He is based in Philadelphia, Pa., United States.

Rick Strittmatter,
Global Research & Development Director
Rick Strittmatter is the global Research & Development director for Dow Microbial Control (DMC). In this role, he is responsible for the Dow Microbial Control innovation growth strategy focused on delivering sustainable microbial control technologies. Rick leads a global team of scientists who develop cutting-edge tools and capabilities in the areas of advanced delivery systems for biocide actives and microbiological methodology, as well as new actives and technologies for microbial control. The team has wide-ranging application science expertise in paints & coatings, oil & gas, industrial water treatment, personal care, marine antifoulants, disinfection & hygiene, and several other industrial applications.
Rick joined The Dow Chemical Company as part of Dow's 1999 acquisition of ANGUS Chemical Company. Rick joined ANGUS in 1996 as applications R&D director, with responsibility for biocide applications and other industrial applications. In 2001, Rick joined Dow's Advanced Electronic Materials business, where he was R&D leader responsible for next generation low-k dielectrics. In 2004, Rick was named the global R&D leader for Dow Biocides. As part of the 2009 acquisition of Rohm & Haas, Rick became global R&D director for DMC, the business unit resulting from the combination of Rohm & Haas Biocides and Dow Biocides.
Prior to joining ANGUS, Rick served as a senior chemist and group leader for Nalco Company with responsibility for developing microbiological control programs and water recycle strategies for industrial water treatment applications.
Rick received his doctorate in inorganic chemistry from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, and a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, N.C. He holds three U.S. patents and has contributed articles to more than 20 scientific publications. Rick is a member of the American Chemical Society and the Society for Industrial Microbiology, and has served on advisory panels or as symposium chairman for several industrial associations.

Bryan Kitchen,
Global Business Operations Director
Bryan Kitchen is the global operations director for Dow Microbial Control (DMC), responsible for creating and implementing supply chain strategies with a focus on delivering margin expansion, enabling growth plans and improving supply reliability.
Bryan began his career at DMC in 2009, and also leads the global Executive Sales & Operations Planning (ES&OP) work process, which is designed to harmonize plans for the sales, production, inventory and financial functions at DMC. Additionally, he manages the impact of planned acquisitions and leads operational synergy efforts.
Prior to joining DMC, Bryan led the implementation of ES&OP for The Dow Chemical Company's (Dow) specialty latex business in Midland, Mich. He also assumed the role of global supply chain improvement leader for Dow Coatings Solutions and led the North American Performance Plastics & Chemicals supply chain improvement team.
Bryan started working at Dow in 2000 with Dow AgroSciences, where he worked in the supply chain function. During his time at Dow AgroSciences, Bryan held leadership and planning roles at the regional and global level, playing an active role in the Rohm and Haas integration post-acquisition and in the implementation of Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) as well as aligning global supply chain sourcing plans with the overall business strategy.
Bryan holds a bachelor's degree in business management from Anderson University and is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt.
He is based in Buffalo Grove, Ill., United States.

Jennifer Sandusky,
Global Human Resources Director
Jennifer Sandusky is the global human resources director for Dow Microbial Control (DMC). She previously served as the human resources leader at the Electronic Materials site in Newark, Delaware, with responsibility for site human resources operations.
Jennifer began her career with Rohm and Haas, as part of Rodel, Inc. in 1995. She has held several human resources specialist and leadership positions including, NAR Human Resources Manager for Electronic Materials, manager of global compensation and U.S. Operations, and senior HR generalist. She earned a BA in Sociology from the University of Maine. Jennifer is a member of and participates in several professional HR organizations and has held her Professional in Human Resources certification through the Society of Human Resources Management since 1996. She also serves as a committee member of the Industry Advisory Board for Delaware Technical Community College.
She is located in Philadelphia, Pa., United States.

Alf Wilkens,
Business Manufacturing Leader
Alf Wilkins is the business manufacturing leader for Dow Microbial Control (DMC). In this role, Alf directs all internal and external manufacturing programs. He joined Dow in 2007 with the acquisition of Wolff Walsrode AG, a wholly owned Bayer Company that is now fully integrated in Dow Wolff Cellulosics.
Starting his career in 1988 with Wolff Walsrode, Alf held leadership positions in engineering and manufacturing. In 1997, he relocated from Bomlitz to Bayer, Leverkusen (Germany) to lead the Bayer engineering department for active pharmaceutical ingredients and maintained global responsibility for capital projects. In 2001, Alf moved back to Bomlitz when he became the project manager for the setup, implementation and operation of the newly created I-Park.
In 2007, he added the role of leader for the PROBIS organization and was named EH&S responsible care leader for the Bomlitz and Bitterfeld sites in 2008. Most recently Alf was M&E leader for the Bomlitz I-Park, Probis GmbH (DOW I-Park technical service provider) and EH&S RCL. Alf holds a masters degree in process engineering from the University of Hanover, Germany.
He is located in Bomlitz, Germany.

Joseph Ferrara,
Global Business Finance Manager
Joseph Ferrara is the finance manager for Dow Microbial Control (DMC). In this role Joseph is responsible for understanding and communicating the business' financial results. He also focuses on providing financial counsel to the commercial team, evaluating strategic projects and cost clarification and simplification.
Joseph began his career in public accounting, working as an assurance auditor, joining Rohm and Haas in 2006 and Dow with the acquisition in 2009. After gaining valuable global experience as an internal auditor for two years, his next assignment brought him to the North American Coatings business in 2008. As a Coatings analyst, Joseph provided internal financial reporting support, financial analysis to the commercial team and financial modeling. Joseph is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant and earned degrees in Accounting and International Business from Villanova University. In addition, he earned a Master's in Accounting and an MBA from Villanova.

Gerry Lopez,
Global Business Manager, New Technologies
Gerry Lopez is Global Business Manager, New Technologies for Dow Microbial Control (DMC). In this role Gerry develops strategy and organizational design focused on leading a team of experts dedicated to new sustainable technologies for microbial control.
Gerry joined Dow in 2009 with the acquisition of Rohm and Haas and since this time has led important projects for the AgroFresh business including managing the cooperation with Syngenta and building a business platform for growth activities. Prior to his most recent role as V.P., Agronomic Crops for AgroFresh, Gerry served as the Director of Marketing Excellence for Rohm and Haas and was also the V.P., Americas for AgroFresh. Gerry began his career with Ag. Chemicals where he held various roles of increasing responsibility eventually holding the role of Americas Marketing Manager where he directed a multinational team and led the strategic direction for the business focused on increasing share profitably.
Gerry holds a D. Phil. and B.A. in Chemistry from Oxford University, U.K. and also completed the Wharton Management Program at the University of Pennsylvania. Gerry also sits on the Board of Directors for the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, which hosts the Philadelphia International Flower Show, the largest indoor flower show in the United States.
He is based in Spring House, Pa., United States.
