Loading of Pressure Vessels

Installation of FILMTEC™ elements varies depending on element size and type and the pressure vessel into which it is installed. Consult the manufacturer of your pressure vessels for specific installation instructions and parts lists. The following loading and unloading procedures apply generally for single and multi-element housings.
Preparation and Element Loading (41KB PDF)

When loading 8-inch elements, it is highly recommended that the element stack be shimmed before the vessel is closed. Shimming limits the motion of elements back and forth in a pressure vessel during startups and shutdowns, prolonging the life of the seals.
Shimming Elements (37KB PDF)

When loading any mid-size or larger elements into pressure vessels, it is highly recommended to use lubricant on all the seals on the vessel, element, adapter, and interconnector.
