ISO 9001:2000 - New Version with Increased Focus

In December of 2000, ISO 9001:2000 was released as the latest version of the ISO standard. While the underlying principles for providing guidelines for instituting quality systems remains, the updated version enjoys a different format, which focuses even more on customer satisfaction. The format has been changed to link the quality management system with business processes. The requirements now entail four primary processes.

  • Management responsibility
  • Resource management
  • Product and / or service realization management
  • Measurement, analysis, and improvement

Specifically, the updates are centered on the following eight quality management principles:

  • Customer-focused organization
  • Leadership
  • Involvement of people
  • Process approach
  • System approach to management
  • Continual improvement
  • Factual approach to decision making
  • Mutually beneficial supplier relationship

The business leadership of Dow Liquid Separations has committed to adhering to ISO 9001:2000 because of their commitment to providing quality products that meet and exceed customers' expectations.
