† As of May 2009, Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) are available for DOW™ ultrafiltration (UF) or wet FILMTEC™ reverse osmosis (RO) and nanofiltration (NF) elements. New customers or existing customers who buy a wet element will automatically receive an SDS. The SDSs are only for the preservation solutions used in the wet modules that are necessary for shipment; the modules themselves do not contain hazardous chemicals and do not require a SDS. Dow provides health, safety and environmental information for covered hazardous chemicals through SDSs as well as product labels. These documents are required by law in many countries in which Dow does business. The SDS summarizes the physical and chemical properties of the hazardous chemical. It also contains useful information such as flash point, toxicity, procedures for spills and leaks, and storage guidelines to help you understand the potential health and physical hazards of a chemical and how to respond effectively to exposure situations. The information provided in the SDS also helps to determine the safe transport conditions of chemicals and the measures to take to protect the environment. Dow is providing this information in good faith and as may be required by law.
