DOW elements are used to process a wide variety of food, dairy, and sweetener streams. Most applications involve product concentration, purification and / or fractionation. For example, whey processors use DOW Food and Dairy Reverse Osmosis (RO) elements to concentrate the valuable solids in cheese whey and lactose in ultrafiltration permeate of whey streams. Protein and sugar concentrations are also very common. DOW Food and Dairy Nanofiltration (NF) elements are used to remove both water and salt from product streams to add value.
