Dow Water & Process Solutions Unveils New ADSORBSIA™ As500 Arsenic Removal MediaTitanium-based media offers cost-effective solution to reduced turbidity and backwash requirements Minneapolis - June 16, 2009 Dow Water & Process Solutions, a division of The Dow Chemical Company (Dow), will unveil its latest titanium-based media, ADSORBSIA™ As500™ media, in booth #3151 during the America Water Works Association's Annual Conference and Exhibition (ACE'09) at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, Calif., June 14-17, 2009. ADSORBSIA As500 media's high capacity makes it an ideal non-regenerable single-use product for the removal of arsenic. It offers an affordable, easy to operate approach, especially for small or mid-sized systems. The new ADSORBSIA product offers greater strength along with reduced turbidity and backwash requirements than the previously-released ADSORBSIA™ GTO™ media. At the same time, ADSORBSIA As500 media also features a longer useful life than traditional adsorbent media, for more productive, cost-advantaged operation across a wide range of water conditions. The new titanium-based media maintains the same strong ADSORBSIA hold on the removed arsenic, allowing for easier and safer disposal. ADSORBSIA media is the only commercially available product that meets the California Total Threshold Limits as well as TCLP and CA WET tests. "Our customers face pressure to reduce costs while delivering against strict industry regulations," said Alan Greenberg, market development manager at Dow Water & Process Solutions. "ADSORBSIA As500 media offers our customers more convenience with easy handling, loading and unloading while also being a cost-effective solution for meeting the human health and safety requirements for clean, safe drinking water." Additional features of ADSORBSIA As500 media include:
ADSORBSIA As500 media is NSF/ANSI 61 certified and available globally.
