Edina Operations Announces Change in LeadershipMinneapolis - March 10, 2009 Tom Bass has been named site leader for Dow Water Solutions’ Edina Operations, replacing Harry Engelhardt, Jr., who has been named site leader for Dow’s Texas City Operations. Bass was also named as site director for FilmTec and operations director for Specialty Polymers. “My time here has been extremely rewarding. I am proud of our employees and all they have accomplished,” said Engelhardt, Jr. “Dow Water Solution’s FilmTec Operations is a strong, integrated facility with an excellent safety culture and talented, committed people. It is poised for growth. I know that Tom will continue Dow’s strong focus on partnerships with the communities around FilmTec Operations.” Bass began his career as an alternating term co-op in Michigan Division in 1984, and is a registered professional engineer in California. He has held a variety of manufacturing roles in California at the Pittsburg, Torrance and Long Beach sites, as well as the DowElanco site in Indianapolis. In 1995, Bass moved to Freeport where he served as global improvement leader for Polycarbonate and later as production leader for Freeport Polycarbonate. Later, Bass became European supply chain manager for Engineering Plastics in Horgen, Switzerland, and Asia new business development director for Engineering Plastics in Hong Kong. Most recently, Bass was director for the Acrylics, Solvents and Amines Technology Center.
