Dow Water Solutions Previews New Seawater Technologies at “Membrane Week” Joint Conference and Exposition

Reverse osmosis technology improves the quality of water supplies and desalination

Edina, MN - July 09, 2008

Dow Water Solutions, a business unit of The Dow Chemical Company and a global leader in water purification, reverse osmosis (RO) seawater desalination, contaminant removal and water reuse solutions, will provide attendees a preview of its latest seawater desalination technologies during the American Membrane Technology Association (AMTA) and Southeast Desalting Association's (SEDA) "Membrane Week" joint conference and exposition in Naples, Florida, July 14-17, 2008.

FILMTEC™ SW30XHR-400i and SW30ULE-400i Seawater RO elements with iLEC™ endcaps use the most advanced technology available today to address the challenging needs of seawater desalination.

"The introduction of these elements is another demonstration of our commitment to develop and deliver new products that are designed to produce high-quality water and reduce capital and operation costs of seawater RO systems," said Cedella Beazley, global marketing manager, Dow Water Solutions. "They combine premium membrane performance with automated precision fabrication for reliable and consistent system operation."

Additional benefits of the products include:

  • SW30XHR-400i offers high stabilized boron rejection to help original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) meet World Health Organization (WHO) and other drinking water standards;

  • SW30ULE-400i is an ideal choice for seawater desalination at low temperature or high total dissolved solid (TDS) rejection for brackish water; and

  • Both can be combined to optimize permeate-staged seawater desalination systems without impairing the performance of the downstream stage.

Dow Water Solutions will also showcase its industry-leading expertise during "Membrane Week" during the following sessions:
