New applications for the LP OxoSM Process include a detergent alcohols process which has been developed for use with olefins cuts produced by Fischer-Tropsch synthesis, which Sasol Chemical Industries will operate in a 120,000 t/a facility at Secunda, South Africa.
Another example is a process for producing the C10 plasticizer alcohol, 2-propylheptanol (2PH), from commercial feedstocks containing normal butenes.
