METEOR High Efficiency Ethylene Glycol 300 Catalyst

METEOR™ High Efficiency Ethylene Glycol (EG) 300 Catalyst provides a clear option that no alternative technology can offer - catalyzed EO hydrolysis. METEOR EG 300 Catalyst has been successfully operated in a demonstration unit and the technology will begin commercial operation in early 2002.

This EG Catalyst technology delivers a selectivity to MEG in excess of 95%. This decreases the production of lower value heavy glycols (DEG+) by 25 to 50% versus the uncatalyzed reactions, and can eliminate the need for heavy glycol refining and distribution. When a licenseee selects the EG Catalyst option, the METEOR Process design allows on-line switching between catalyzed and uncatalyzed mode providing producers the flexibility to meet changing market demands.
