In August of 2008, EQUATE officially announced the start-up of operations of The Kuwait Olefins Company’s new ethylene glycol production plant. With a production capacity of 600,000 metric tons annually, this new plant is the largest single ethylene glycol plant of its kind to utilize Dow METEOR technology.
On November 20, 2008, EQUATE announced the start-up of operations of the new ethylene unit. With a total production capacity of 850,000 metric tons annually, this new unit is a critical part of the overall expansion project and will supply ethylene within the EQUATE group of companies for production of polyethylene, ethyl benzene styrene monomer, and ethylene glycol.
