Materials Transformation Group Team Members Win Award

The team of Joe Dooley, Trisha Costeux, Bob Wrisley, and Andy Schlader has won the Best Paper Award from the Extrusion Division of the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) at the 2008 ANTEC conference held in Milwaukee. The paper, titled "Multilayer Rheology Effects in Coextruded Structure Design," was selected by both the Paper Review Panel and by the Audience on the merits of technical quality, value to the reader, and the quality of the presentation. The paper describes techniques for measuring experimental rheology data for monolayer and multilayer structures, and then shows the effects of multilayer rheology in the design of coextruded structures.  Dooley, Costeux, Wrisley and Schlader are members of the Materials Transformation Group (MTG) in Midland.

The Best Paper Award has been given out by the Extrusion Division each year since 1975. Since the 1990 ANTEC conference, Dow MTG researchers have won the award 12 times.
