Innovation doesn’t just occur in our own labs. We also partner with customers, universities, government institutions and members of the scientific community around the world to develop new ideas and technologies. These partnerships can take many forms, including a Joint Development Agreement in which we leverage technologies for more cost-effective product or service development and implementation.

Dow R&D works closely with governmental institutions and agencies worldwide to conduct research of strategic interest to both parties. Contracts are awarded to Dow or to government-sponsored consortia in which Dow participates. In addition, collaboration between Dow and government can yield research opportunities for universities and independent laboratories..
In addition to government-funded programs, Dow directly funds research at universities and independent laboratories around the world. These sponsored research programs foster mutually beneficial relationships between universities, research institutes, and Dow scientists. Dow R&D seeks opportunities to sponsor specific research that may be important to present or future company activities.
Collaborations and research partnerships enable Dow to share resources and insight into key scientific applications and combine strengths in pursuit of breakthrough ideas.
