Health Care

We recognize that monumental change is essential to making health care more affordable and accessible to all. It is also our obligation to promote good health –one of the most highly held values across cultures. Prevention, quality care, research leading to innovative technologies, and stronger public health efforts are central to a winning strategy.

In addition to offering a portfolio of technologies that enhance pharmaceutical formulation and non-woven fabric performance (found in countless health and hygiene products), Dow invests in site and community prevention programs worldwide. These programs focus on nutrition, fitness, lifestyle improvements, smoking cessation, and stress reduction.

BREAKTHROUGH INNOVATION

- The Serum Institute of India is the world’s largest producer of measles and DTP vaccines, also producing anti-venom and other vaccines in 145 countries.  Using the Dowpharma Pfenex Expression Technology™, the goal is to make more vaccines available faster and at lower cost to serve the millions of poor children around the globe.

- Each year approximately 300 million square feet of glass is shattered in North America. Whether broken by a baseball, a hurricane or a vandal, fractured glass is a danger and must be secured. One of Dow’s newest products, Broken Glass Stabilizer™ (BGS™) uses a proprietary, patent-pending technology that allows users to secure a broken glass window, reducing the risk of cuts, almost immediately with spray-on polymeric foam. Users can secure broken glass instantly, fuse hazardous broken glass into a safe panel, patch window holes with a weather-tight seal, and trap glass shards into a manageable solid.
