Dow scientists and engineers are among the most decorated in the industry for product discoveries, advancements and lifetime achievements.

In 2007, Dow received recognition for its own energy and greenhouse gas reduction efforts.  Examples include achievements as an Energy Champion by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Save Energy Now program:

  • Dow was recognized for outstanding energy savings at its Freeport, Texas complex. Through efficiency upgrades at its largest site in the world, Dow generated $3 million in annual cost savings and eliminated 600,000 MMBtu of annual energy use, which is the equivalent of 32,000 metric tons of CO2.
  • Dow’s St. Charles, Louisiana site was recognized for achieving more than 250,000 MMBtu of annual energy savings.
