Fix IMMOTUS panels to resilient rails at 300mm centres using 42mm drywall screws.

  • Determine which way the panels will run. On timber joisted ceilings the IMMOTUS* R+ resilient rails must run at right angles to the joists, so the long edges of the panels will run parallel to the joists.

  • Plan the panel layout to stagger cross joints.

  • Mark lines on the ceiling at 600mm max. centres.

  • Set IMMOTUS R+ resilient rails on the lines and fix using the specified fixings. Stop rails approximately 200mm short of the walls.

  • Fix IMMOTUS R+ resilient rails in a continuous run around the perimeter of the ceiling. See Ceiling Layout below.

  • Where panel ends abut, fix two strips of rail, approximately 100mm apart to support the panel ends. See Horizontal Joints for Walls below.

  • Fix panels to the rail at 300mm centres using 42mm drywall screws. Locate fixings below the dotted lines marked on the rails. At this stage do not install the fixings for the panel edges.

  • Do not install any fixing within 80mm of the panel edge.

  • When all panels are in place, insert the fixings to all panel edges.

  • Tape and seal joints and screw heads.

  • Seal all perimeter joints and penetrations with acoustic sealant.
