Ms. Sazi Lutseke was appointed the new Managing Director of Dow Southern Africa in June. Lutseke who has spent most of her career at Dow takes over from Ross McLean who is now responsible for Dow’s business development in the India, Middle East and Sub-Saharan Africa region. “We are delighted to appoint Sazi Lutseke as Managing Director, a position she is well-qualified and experienced to fulfill,” commented Ross McLean.  “We offer a diverse range of products and services to the local market but Sazi knows the business very well, having spent over 10 years with Dow in a variety of leadership positions.”

Formerly Operations Leader for Dow AgroSciences in South Africa, Lutseke’s experience at Dow is primarily in an operations and site leadership capacity and includes a period as Production Leader of a Dow insecticides plant in the UK.  She also spent three years in a Human Resources capacity enabling her to develop broader leadership and business experience.

“We believe in the long-term potential for economic growth and diversification across Africa,” stated newly appointed Lutseke.  “The capability to bring technology and products to enhance the lives of people and support economic growth makes us a potential role-player in the development of markets and livelihoods across Sub-Saharan Africa.” Other than the everyday stewardship of the organization and the development of local business, Lutseke’s responsibilities will include the development of new opportunities in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Sazi Lutseke holds a Master’s Degree in Chemistry from Rhodes University.
