Dow Automotive
Based in Port Elizabeth, Dow Automotive SA provides a broad product range including polyurethane products used in the manufacturing of car seats, head rests, door panels etc; plastic compounds used in bumpers, door panels etc., and brake fluids and adhesives which are used for windscreen bonding, metal to metal bonding, and plastic to metal bonding.
Dow Automotive is an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for BMW, Mercedes Benz SA, Toyota SA, Manufacturing, General Motors SA, Volkswagen SA, Renault Nissan, Ford and Hi Tech Auto.
Dow AgroSciences
Dow AgroSciences (DAS) operations in South Africa consists of two Sites i.e. Canelands in Durban and the BTDA Plant in Sasolburg.
The Canelands Site, an industrial site since 1896 became a pesticide manufacturing facility in the 1970.s and a fully owned Dow facility in 1997. The site is used for the production, formulation and packaging of herbicides. The BTDA plant in Sasolburg, built in 1995, is responsible for the production of a molecule which is an intermediate for the production of the herbicide Tebuthiuron. The molecule is solid at room temperature and is transported to the Canelands Site by means of isotainers.
The Dow AgroSciences division also has a warehouse facility in Chloorkop and sales offices in Paarl and Pretoria which also functions as a Research and Development base for national projects.
Rohm and Haas South Africa

With the acquisition of Rohm and Haas, Dow has formed the largest specialty chemicals company in the world. This is now part of the newly formed Dow Advanced Materials Division. Dow's local Advanced Materials site is based in New Germany, KwaZulu Natal and produces specialty chemicals for architectural coatings, textile, non-wovens, paper, industrial, construction adhesives and sealants. The site operates two reactors capable of producing some 24000 Metric Tons (MT) of products
