King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST)
Dow is a founding member of the Industrial Collaboration Program at the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), a graduate-level research university located in Thuwal, Saudi Arabia, outside Jeddah.
Our partnership with KAUST is entirely aligned with Dow’s focus on delivering science-based solutions for everyday needs. Dow has also announced intentions to establish its first R&D footprint in the region within KAUST’s adjacent Research Park and Innovation Cluster.
Research undertaken at the proposed Dow Middle East R&D Center is intended to address the most pressing challenges facing Saudi Arabia, with the intent of developing technologies for direct implementation into Saudi Arabia’s economy. R&D scope at the Dow Center will initially focus on water treatment and water treatment technologies, eventually expanding to include oil and gas, processes research and development and infrastructure materials, further delivering on the opportunities to drive sustainable economic development in the Kingdom.
Young Arab Leaders (YAL)

Young Arab Leaders (YAL) is a network of prominent Arab men and women, eager to trigger positive change in the Middle East and across the world. The organization aims to bridge the awareness gap between the region and the rest of the world by establishing long-term networks of cooperation between young Arab and American leaders on a large spectrum of industries and fields, including business, media, government and non-government organizations.
Through its philanthropic arm, The Dow Chemical Company Foundation, Dow signed a two-year agreement with Young Arab Leaders in December 2007 to support the organization’s inspiring endeavor, The Global Action Program. The Dow Chemical Company Foundation pledged its support of the ‘Arab and American Dialogue Program’, an umbrella program created to expose young Arabs and Americans to each culture’s respective business and cultural practices.
Lothan Youth Achievement Center (LoYAC)

The Lothan Youth Achievement Center (LoYAC) is a non-profit organization founded in Kuwait in 2002. The organization caters to children and young community members between the ages of 13 and 27 promoting critical thinking, innovation, entrepreneurship, community service work, health awareness, environmental awareness, leadership and drama, music and performing arts.
Through its charitable arm, The Dow Chemical Company Foundation, Dow's support of LoYAC's programs and activities include: Dow's sole partnership of the 'F1 Schools Challenge' and various productions by 'LoYAC Academy of Performing Arts'. In addition to supporting all of LoYAC's youth developmental programs in Kuwait and abroad, Dow also supports LoYAC's Part-Time Program for work internships, Hotel Management Scholarship, The "7 Habits of Highly Effective College Students" Program, Continuous Development Program, as well as various interactive activities by LoYAC that focus on Music, Artizana (arts & crafts), Poetry, Creativity, and Sports.
Emirates Environmental Group (EEG)

The Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) is a voluntary, non-government organization based in the United Arab Emirates with a vision to protect the environment through education, action programs and community involvement. EEG is the first environmental NGO in the world to be accredited with the ISO 14001 certification for its environmental management system. Dow is a platinum sponsor of the organization's initiatives and in February 2008, Dow was presented an EEG annual award, which recognized Dow's commitment to protecting the environment.
Emirates Diving Association (EDA)
The mission of the Emirates Diving Association (EDA) is to conserve, protect and restore the UAE's marine resources by promoting the marine environment and environmental diving. Their efforts complement Dow's 2015 Sustainability Goals and since early 2007, Dow has participated in several events with EDA. In December 2007, the association recognized Dow by granting an award for the Company's commitment to protecting what is precious to the local community.
