Dow Formulated Systems, a business unit of Dow Chemical International Private Limited (Dow India), today inaugurated its expanded Polyurethane Systems House (PUSH) and formulated polyol facility in Kalwa, Thane, India. The Kalwa facility is part of the company’s strategy to invest in infrastructure enabling the manufacture of key ingredients for specialty applications.

Harish Badami, President & Managing Director, Dow India, said: "The expansion of the Kalwa facility marks an important step in better servicing our customers in the Indian market. Located in Navi Mumbai, the facility builds on Dow India’s logistics capabilities by servicing one of the country’s most important industrial and economical hubs. It also enhances Dow India’s ability to provide cost-effective yet technology-advanced customised solutions to Indian consumers."

The Kalwa site houses Dow’s Formulated Systems blending facility together with customer application centres and employs 115 people. The formulated polyol blended at the site is used for application in diverse sectors, including construction, refrigeration, home appliances, automotive seating, footwear, furnishing and bedding. The Kalwa site was originally opened as a technical service centre in 2004.
