Markus Wildi - As Vice President of Corporate Development in Kuwait, Markus Wildi is responsible for establishing a local presence for Dow in Kuwait. In addition, he holds oversight responsibility for the Company’s existing joint ventures in the country. Wildi reports to Dow Chairman and CEO Andrew Liveris and represents the office of the CEO in Kuwait.
Wildi started his career as General Manager for Ravago America Corporation in 1983. In 1987, he assumed a role as Sales Specialist for General Motors Suisse SA. The same year, he joined Dow in Munich, Germany, as a senior Salesman in the Polyethylene business.
During his career at Dow, Wildi held numerous positions in sales and commercial management around the world. In 1990, he was named Account Manager in Europe. In May of that year, he was appointed Sales Manager for STYROFOAM™ in Germany, based in Frankfurt. In January 1993, he became Regional Commercial Manager for Fabricated Products in France, Spain and Italy, and relocated to Paris. In October 1995, he assumed the position of Product Marketing Manager for Solution Polyethylene, Dow Europe, and moved to Horgen, Switzerland. He relocated to Singapore in 1998 to assume the position of Sales Director for ASEAN, Australia/New Zealand, India and Pakistan.
In 2000, he was promoted to Commercial Director for the Polyolefins and Elastomers Business Group in the Pacific Area. In 2004, he was named Commercial Vice President, Base Plastics, Europe, Middle East and Africa and relocated to Horgen, Switzerland. Prior to being appointed to his current role in 2009, Wildi was President of Dow Europe and President and Chairman of the Board of Dow Deutschland, a position he held since 2006.
