Dow Heat Transfer Fluids to be Displayed at ACHEMA 2012

ACHEMA 2012, which takes place in Frankfurt, Germany June 18-22nd, is the world forum for the process industry and is sure to bring exciting developments to the forefront. The Dow Chemical Company (NYSE: DOW) will be there, contributing to the buzz as it unveils the first iteration of the next generation of its heat transfer fluid lineup.

Along with this new addition, Dow will be showcasing its full range of heat transfer fluids. Dow’s heat transfer fluids are well-suited for a variety of applications, including chemical processing, HVAC, solar, waste-heat recovery, food and beverage processing, pharmaceutical processing and heat recovery. These fluids include three different chemistries - inhibited glycol, synthetic organic and silicone - delivering specialized technologies to customers.

Dow’s inhibited glycol based fluids, the DOWCAL™, DOWFROST™ and DOWTHERM™ lines, contain specially formulated industrial inhibitor packages designed to prevent corrosion. Dow offers an assortment of ethylene glycol (EG) and propylene glycol (PG) fluids for a wide range of applications and environmental considerations.

Dow’s synthetic organic and silicone fluids, the DOWTHERM and SYLTHERM™1 lines, offer high-performance values due to their high-temperature thermal stability properties. Both facilitate higher efficiency heat transfer. While synthetic organic fluids have significantly longer lifetimes than mineral oil based heat transfer fluids - some customers use them for more than 50 years at a time - silicone fluids rarely need to be replaced, which in turn offers more long-term value to users.
