Dow Announces Price Increase for DOWTHERM High-Temperature Thermal Fluids Product Line

Midland, MI - September 30, 2005

Effective October 1, 2005, The Dow Chemical Company will raise list- and off-list prices of all DOWTHERM™ High-Temperature Thermal Fluids and related products in North America by 8%. This price increase will apply to the following products:

DOWTHERM Q

DOWTHERM CLEANING FLUID

"We continue to experience unprecedented escalations in raw materials, energy, and transportation costs," said Kristi Wolohan, Marketing Manager for Dow's High-Temperature Thermal Fluids products. " The devastating effects of the recent hurricanes have put additional pressure on critical petrochemical feedstocks and energy prices. In addition, the disruption of the transportation infrastructure in the Gulf Coast has further tightened supply of raw materials utilized to manufacture our products. We must implement these increases in order offset the rising costs to manufacture and transport our products and remain a strong and reliable supplier".
