Dow heat transfer fluids may be used in a wide range of functional and protective applications. These versatile products include three distinct chemistries: Synthetic Organic, Silicone, and Glycol Solutions. To select the right fluid for your application, consider the type of system first.

If you are circulating water and need to prevent freezing or depress freezing point, plus obtain corrosion protection, consider a DOWTHERM™, DOWFROST™ or DOWCAL™ inhibited glycol-based fluid. Choose the appropriate ethylene glycol or propylene glycol-based fluid by weighing the importance of heat transfer efficiency versus low toxicity and considering any FDA, USDA or other regulations that may apply to your application.

If you require high temperature performance, choose a DOWTHERM Synthetic Organic or SYLTHERM†1 Silicone Fluid. For odorless, low toxicity fluids that have a low environmental impact, consider SYLTHERM Fluids. For a wide range of functional fluid options providing high thermal stability, consider DOWTHERM Synthetic Organic Fluids. DOWTHERM Fluids include options that are excellent replacements for hot oils where additional stability can improve system performance and operating economics. Also included are broad temperature fluids for batch processing, fluids for both liquid and vapor phase operation, as well as fluids for pressureless or low pressure systems.
