The initial investment in a heat transfer fluid for a water-based HVAC system is considerably less than the cost of chillers, pumps, piping and other system components. But the system’s performance, longevity, and long-term maintenance costs may well depend on which heat transfer fluid is used. For water-based HVAC systems, DOWTHERM™, DOWFROST™, and DOWCAL™ Inhibited Glycol-based Heat Transfer Fluids are the most trusted names in the business.

The full range of Dow fluids includes inhibited, ethylene glycol-based (EG) fluids, which are specified when maximum heat transfer efficiency and economy are essential, and inhibited propylene glycol based (PG) fluids for use when a low toxicity fluid is required. Used at the appropriate concentration, properly maintained Dow glycol-based fluids provide reliable and economical, long-term protection against system corrosion, freezing, and bursting.
