In October 2009, Dow's Louisiana Operations (LAO) teamed with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Baton Rouge for a Dow Volunteer Day to help build a home in Port Allen, LA. More than 20 Dow employees and their families worked together with the future homeowner to hang insulation, prep the house for siding, lay decking in the attic and much more.
Dow's Louisiana sites have a long history of supporting local communities where they operate. Over the past two decades, LAO has donated more than $1 million and its employees have built more than 23 Habitat for Humanity homes stretching across Louisiana showing what it truly means to embrace the Human Element. LAO is proud to announce the sponsorship of a Habitat home in Plaquemine, LA in 2010 where LAO will continue to support Habitat and contribute to community success.
