Zhang will be based in Shanghai, China, and report to Phil Cook, corporate vice president of Strategic Development, Licensing and New Ventures. In 1996, Zhang was named production leader for the PO/PG facilities in Freeport, Texas, and in 1999 she became global technology director for the Chlorohydrin Tech Center. In early 2002, she was named site director for the Map-Ta-Phut Operations, and also served as the manufacturing director and board member of Siam Cement (SCC) and Dow joint venture companies in Thailand. A native Chinese from Shanghai, Zhang received a master's degree in chemistry and a doctoral degree in chemical engineering from the Technical University of Clausthal in Germany.
