Because of the global nature of our business, we do provide employees with opportunities to travel, live and work internationally. However, not all of our positions will require international travel or relocation. Still, we offer employees opportunities to work as part of global teams on projects with a global scope far more often and earlier in your career than other employers. If I join Dow, how will you help orient me to the company? The first few months of your career with an organization are critical, and we believe in helping you get off to the best possible start. So, no matter where you are in the world, you will receive a welcome and introduction to the company through our award-winning Roadmap to Dow process. It designed to help new employees learn about the company, get up to speed quickly and gain the self-confidence and self-sufficiency to be successful. The process encourages coaching and the building of personal networks to help new employees develop and learn. In addition, your leader serves as an important guide and coach in acclimating you to your new environment. I am an experienced professional. How are my years of work experience accounted for and valued by Dow? To fuel our growth goals, we have a need to supplement our existing talent pool with experienced people. Your previous work experience and the expectations of the open position are key factors in determining your starting salary, and we offer competitive pay and benefits across the world. How often will I be expected to change jobs? The answer to this question is based more on your own desire for change. You are in the driver's seat, and we provide the resources, tools and support for you to chart your own path. Generally, though not the expectation, employees serve in a particular role for about three years to fully develop and apply their expertise and knowledge. Again, how long you stay in a particular job is up to you. We recognize that employee development is different from one person to the next. Sometimes, it's about staying in a job, continuing to build knowledge and skills, and adding new roles within the job; other times, it's about changing positions. Will Dow help me relocate? Yes, Dow offers a competitive relocation package to support new employees in moving and transitioning to their new work location. Does Dow offer educational assistance? Yes, this is one of the ways we invest in and support employee development. Does Dow support my further education for masters & doctorate while working? Dow supports our staff efforts in personal development and growth. However, applications will be processed and approved by business directors taking into account company business needs, individual developmental needs and competitive comparison against other staff on performance and developmental potential, etc. As a condition, people are required to service the company for one year after they receive the reimbursement of education. Otherwise, they will have to pay back the company in pro-rata. |
