Business Assignment Program (BAP)

Overview
The Business Assignment Program (BAP) is an intensive job rotation program designed to provide broad emersion into the company for MBA graduates. Participants are placed in four to five diverse work assignments over 18 months. Rewards include career development, customized exposure to key functions within Dow, frequent development feedback and accelerated career growth for successful participants. BAP gives participants the early opportunity to take on important business challenges and demonstrate their abilities within Dow.

Program Structure
The program consists of four to five project assignments in different functions over the course of 18 months. Candidates are placed in Marketing, Business Development, Finance, and Shared Services, with each assignment lasting four months. These functional areas are essential to general management and provide the networks, knowledge and skills designed to promote long-term career growth in Dow.

Each project assignment is carefully designed according to business requirements as well as the developmental needs of the participant. BAP participants will be assigned to work with senior leaders who have proven track records of leading and developing others. The leaders will provide early coaching, recognize areas of strength, and give timely feedback based on the individual development needs of each BAP participant.



Professional Development

The BAP offers a holistic and intense approach to professional development:

Communication ¨C regular, structured contact with senior leaders from multiple functions and peer groups.
Network and Mentoring ¨C senior leader assigned as mentor for each assignment, providing participants with an initial network to help ensure success in the program and offer guidance and support throughout their career. BAP candidates will have access to business and peer networks.
Development and Training ¨C tailor-made Personal Learning Plan (PLP) covers general company orientation as well and specific business and functional training driven by project schedule.
Performance Management ¨C leverage company performance management system, apply intensively with multi-leader involvement on a project-by-project basis to provide prompt assessment and feedback and identification of development needs.

Graduation from BAP
The goal of the program is to prepare MBA graduates for positions with a significant level of responsibility and challenge. At the conclusion of the BAP, participants will be evaluated for deployment in a function based on their performance, skills, career interests and Dow¡¯s business needs. Personalized mentoring and career development support will be consistently offered from Dow senior leaders throughout the first year upon BAP deployment.

Candidate Requirements
Candidates can be full time or part time MBA students in their last year of study, with a concentration in general management, sales and marketing, finance, strategy or supply/logistics, and have a minimum of 5 years relevant working experience prior to MBA.

Dow seeks mobile-minded strategic thinkers and tactical implementers with a demonstrated outstanding work ethic and strong problem solving, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills. Although an international perspective is required, an international experience would be beneficial.
