2015 Dow Sustainability GoalsSolutions Dow continues to advance sustainable chemistry through new and enhanced products, processes and services. We are committed to using science and chemistry to help solve issues with global ecosystems and working towards the efficient and effective use of precious resources. We are actively working toward, and committed to achieving, at least three breakthroughs by 2015 that will significantly help solve the challenges of: • Adequate food supply • Affordable housing • Alternative energy • Sustainable water supplies • Improvements in personal health Sustainable chemistry is our "cradle to cradle" concept that drives us to use resources more efficiently, to minimize our footprint, provide value to our customers and stakeholders, deliver solutions for customer needs and enhance the quality of life of current and future generations. Dow provides arsenic removal media to improve access to higher quality, affordable, sustainable water supplies. Dow is engaged in all stages of the manufacture of windmill blades as part of the aggressive growth plan for Wind Energy in China. Dow also developed solar power panels that offer the most promising opportunity to significantly change the mix of energy options. Dow will invest over US$100 million to enable the use of Building Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) roofing and other building materials that will show great promise in powering homes and buildings efficiently.   |
