Usually visible when fresh. Heat of tumbling or pressing caramelizes the sugar causing a brown stain. Practically impossible to remove after caramelized unless fabric is white and can be bleached. |

A green stain will appear on white or pastel-colored fabrics pretreated with moisture, or wet-side spotting agents. The copper salt in the solvent has a greater affinity for moisture than the dry surrounding areas of fabric. |
