Moisture-laded solvent. Separator may be badly rusted. Water drain line may also be plugged. Air vent on water separator may be closed. See Excess Water. Excess Water in solvent An emulsion occurs in the cleaning solvent when the water content exceeds a concentration that the detergent is capable of solubilizing Same as above. Also check for malfunctioning moisture control unit and for internal leaks in water-cooled heat exchangers. Once source is corrected, decant off excess water and run several loads of cotton rags through the cleaning cycle. Backwash and apply new precoat. If necessary, distill inventory of affected solvent. Rinse or wash solvent
