Starting July 1, 2009, Aetna will be Dow's new provider for its U.S. Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and Behavioral Health benefit programs. Dow's EAP Ready to Help Dow's EAP provides free, professional and confidential counseling to ALL employees and their family members -- you don't need to be an Aetna plan participant. EAP services include assessment, short-term counseling and referrals, as well as workplace consultation to employees and leaders. Dow's EAP offerings will remain unchanged, the phone number remains the same (1-800-7DowDow (1-800-736-9369)) and the program will continue to be offered at the same locations and, in most cases, with the same counselors. EAP is confidential, easy to access, and available to assist with issues such as:
Enhanced Mental Health and Substance Abuse Benefits Aetna also provides enhanced support for mental health and substance abuse programs for plan participants. If you are receiving care from an APS provider before July 1, 2009, you will need to check to see if your provider is part of the Aetna network. If your provider is not part of the Aetna network, you may need to complete a transition coverage form during the 90 day transition period from APS to Aetna. For routine outpatient care, no pre-certification will be required for Aetna behavioral health and substance abuse programs as of July 1, 2009. When seeing your behavioral health provider after July 1, 2009, please remember to let them know that they need to bill Aetna for the services provided using the claim address on the back of your Aetna medical ID card. In addition, Aetna offers a confidential online survey to help you identify, understand and track behavioral health issues you might be experiencing. The Behavioral Health Assessment guides you through a series of questions that can help you take action on your health and well being. It then provides personalized information and resources to help you seek care. To access the tool, go to www.aetnabhra.com and register. Once you have registered, log in, using your Member ID and password. Employees in non-Aetna sponsored plans will continue to have access to Behavioral Health Programs through their current plan. If you have questions or would like to learn more about specific health related services, programs and benefits, please call the Dow Benefit Line at: 1-800-7DOW-DOW (1-800-736-9369). |
