Brazosport Community Welcomes Hockstra as Texas Operations Site Leader

Freeport, Texas - March 13, 2008

Gary Hockstra recently was named Site Leader for Texas Operations following in the footsteps of Bob Walker. Walker has assumed new responsibilities with Manufacturing and Engineering along with the recently announced joint venture with PIC.

Hockstra has lived in Texas for 12 years along with his wife and two children. Before coming to Freeport, his Dow career took him to many locations around the world including The Netherlands, Italy and Midland, Mich.

At the recent Brazosport Chamber of Commerce luncheon, Hockstra stated, “I’m very proud to represent Texas Operations, Dow’s largest and, in my opinion, most important site.

“The messages I hope you’ll take from today’s meeting are these: First, Dow is here for the long term. Second, we’re committed to community success which includes ensuring a healthy environment and providing well-paying, safe and secure jobs. Finally, it’s clear that the future of Dow, and as a result the future of this community, is bright.”
