Havlik Named Project Manager of the Year
Freeport, Texas - January 24, 2008
David Havlik has been named The Dow Chemical Company’s 2007 Project Manager of the Year Award recipient. Havlik works at Dow’s Texas Operations’ site in Freeport. The award is given by the Dow Engineering Solutions team.
Havlik was recognized for his outstanding achievements on the recently completed Power 6 Project. This project realized a list of achievements including high level satisfaction from strategic partners. It also met very aggressive safety, cost, schedule and business goals and it was completed below the projected cost forecast even with extensions to schedules. Most importantly, as a result of the project, emissions were decreased from Power 6 and in direct alignment with Dow’s 2015 Sustainability Goals.
Completed over seven years, there were zero OSHA recordables. With the turnaround duration and the more than 100,000 hours worked, this performance was considered exemplary by the Engineering Solutions team.
The Project Manager Award was created to recognize and show appreciation to project managers that deliver on the project objectives of the business and demonstrate leadership in implementation of Dow’s project process and best practices. Recipients of the award are selected by the Project Management Expertise Center and announced by Margaret Walker, Vice President Engineering Solutions, Technology Centers and Manufacturing and Engineering Work Process.
