Security Magazine names Dow’s Scott One of 25 Most Influential Executives
Texas - February 05, 2007
The Dow Chemical Company’s Chief Security Officer and global director of Emergency Services and Security (ES&S), Tim Scott, was recently named one of the 25 Most Influential Security Executives in the United States – an honor shared with the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, Michael Chertoff and other distinguished security leaders.
Scott is based out of Texas Operations, and leads the ES&S expertise and global functional delivery networks, as well as the Security Issues Management Team. The company depends daily on the ES&S organization’s expertise in the areas of crisis management, emergency planning, preparation and response for emergencies involving Dow or Dow products.
“I take pride in Dow’s global commitment to leadership and continuous improvements in the area of chemical security and it is an honor to be placed among so many accomplished security professionals,” said Scott. “In this world of heightened security it is critical that private industry has a collective ideology which supports the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in combating terrorism.”
Today, his knowledge, experience and leadership are being leveraged by many U.S. agencies and associations to help make the nation’s chemical industry safer and more secure. Scott was recently appointed vice chairman of the Chemical Sector Coordinating Council — the chemical industry’s primary interface with DHS.
“Dow’s integrated and comprehensive approach to security is what really sets our company apart,” said Scott. “This honor recognizes the leadership of Dow and the many people across our company dedicated to securing our company and improving the preparedness of our industry.”
Dow’s approach to security has progressed into an internationally standardized security program which builds on local fundamentals, and leverages global expertise, technology and best practices to every site around the globe. These measures have led to the company’s renowned reputation as a leader in safety, security and emergency response.
