Dow’s Texas Operations publishes 2005 Public Report to illustrate progress on sustainability goalsTexas - August 29, 2006 Texas Operations today released its 2005 Public Report. The report announces that Texas Operations had its lowest injury and illness rate ever and discusses progress on a range of other goals related to Dow’s commitment to creating value in sustainable ways, including the launch of the next generation of its performance goals called the 2015 Sustainability Goals. The Texas Operations report is one of 22 local reports produced by Dow in addition to its Corporate Public Report, which was released earlier this year. All the Dow Public Reports are available at www.dowlocalpublicreport.com. As part of the company’s efforts to increase transparency, the web site offers additional information, allowing in-depth study of key operating and performance data from Dow and its 22 major manufacturing sites. “Our goal is to eliminate injuries, prevent adverse environmental and health impacts, reduce wastes and emissions, and promote resource conservation at every stage of the life cycle of our products,” said Bob Walker, Vice President and Site Leader for Texas Operations. “Because we’re celebrating Texas Operations’ 65th anniversary, these achievements are even more special to us.” TexasOperations 2005 Performance Highlights
2015 Sustainability Goals The 2015 Sustainability Goals are the next step towards achieving Dow’s vision to be the largest, most profitable and most respected chemical company in the world. They build on the accomplishments of the 2005 EH&S Goals, but have a broader external focus: strengthening our relationships with the communities where we operate, continuing to improve our product stewardship and innovation, and reducing our global footprint. As we launched our 2015 Sustainability Goals, Andrew Liveris, president, CEO and Chairman of the Board reaffirmed Dow’s commitment to adhering to the vision and ethics of Responsible Care® by signing the Responsible Care® Global Charter. “Our recommitment to Responsible Care® and our launch of the 2015 Sustainability Goals are concrete ways in which we are weaving sustainability into the fabric of our work,” said Liveris.
