Good NeighborsCommunity Magazine of Dow Texas Operations Wins National, Regional Awards Texas - June 23, 2005 Dow Texas Operations recently won a Bronze Anvil Award of Commendation from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) for Neighbors: The Community Magazine of Dow Texas Operations. PRSA's Bronze Anvil Awards recognize outstanding achievement in public relations at a national level. "Neighbors was started in 2004 because we wanted to have a dialogue with our community about what goes on at the site and the challenges we face that might impact them," said David Winder, external communications manager for Dow Texas Operations, who is also a co-editor of the magazine along with Jan Huisman, Public Affairs Leader for Dow Texas Operations. "From the feedback we've gotten from our neighbors in the community, they're enjoying the magazine and appreciating our efforts to make it a community magazine. Winning awards is just icing on the cake for what we already considered an excellent inaugural year of Neighbors." In addition to the national award, Neighbors also won a Silver Excalibur Award in the External Newsletter category from PRSA's Houston Division. "We applaud Dow for its exceptional creative tactical solutions to a public relations challenge," said Sherry Goldman, 2005 PRSA Bronze Anvil Awards chair and president, Goldman Communications Group, Inc. "Dow's entry truly set them apart from a wide field of worthy competitors." The Dow Chemical Company About the Public Relations Society of America |
