Dow Chemical, Texas Operations is proud to demonstrate our commitment to local public and private school education through the 2007-2008 Dow Education Grants Program. This program provides funding for educational projects promoting interest and excellence in math and science in public and private school campuses in Southern Brazoria County. Community Grants Program

Sharing our success…

Organizations making positive contributions to their communities can earn up to $25,000 in funding through the 2008 Dow Chemical Texas Operations Community Grant Program.

To qualify, applicants must be charitable or non-profit organizations (have a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax designation) or be municipal or government agencies and be based in southern Brazoria County.

Dow seeks to support specific projects taking place over a defined period of time, with long-term community benefits. Projects must align with at least one of Dow’s focus areas for contribution - science in society, community sustainability, and environmental enhancement.

Since 2004, Dow’s community grants program has distributed about $1 million. It has previously supported organizations conducting projects such as rehabilitation facilities for wildlife, construction and/or renovation of community centers, development of youth activity facilities, environmental education projects, education programs for improved health care and workforce development.

The deadline for applications is April 25, 2008. Information sessions about the community grant program and application process will be held April 3 from 9-11 a.m. and 5-7 p.m. at the Lake Jackson Civic Center.
