Volunteers

If there is a community activity within 20 miles of Dow Texas Operations then chances are there will be a Dow Texas Operations' employee involved. From youth sports to building homes to tutoring students, Dow volunteers give freely of their time to improve the quality of life in their communities.

Dow recognizes that employee involvement within the community fits hand-in-hand with its focus on sustainable development. Throughout the year, Dow volunteers are involved with more than 60 local events in some capacity.

Dow volunteers can also be found at almost every event associated with the Brazoria County Fair during the year, including Senior Citizen's Day, Special Children's Day, Brazoria County Science Fair and Livestock Showmanship. Almost 50 employees volunteered to serve as judges at the most recent science fair competition.

Employees of Dow also help children at Velasco Elementary with their reading through the STARS program. Volunteers can be found at the BACH Roll and Stroll, annual beach and various city-wide cleanups, the MS 150 bicycling event, the Martin Luther King Parade, Boys and Girls Clubs events, Junior Achievement, Walk for Habitat, Rotary Shrimp Boil, United Way Neighbor Day and many other events.

Among the hundreds of Dow volunteers that give freely of their time to help out, some have opted to take on the greater challenges of various board positions as well. Currently, Dow is proud that more than 60 local non-profit, government or educational boards have Dow employees represented on them.
