Slaughter Road - Update
Earlier in the year, the CAP requested to hear an update on the Slaughter Road area. In the mid-1990s, it was discovered that contaminants had migrated from B-47, an historical waste management area on Dow property, into the brackish groundwater under portions of the Slaughter Road area.

Through risk assessments it was determined that the contaminants posed no known health risks. During the late 1990s, the B-47 area was capped and barrier walls were installed to prevent any further migration. Today, in the Slaughter Road area, Dow follows a state approved groundwater compliance plan.

Dow Follow-Up
Dow President and CEO Andrew Liveris was the keynote speaker at the Brazosport Chamber of Commerce 60th Anniversary Banquet. On behalf of Dow, Liveris donated $60,000 to the Chamber for its new building.
