February 2005 CAP Meeting
The Community Advisory Panel (CAP) to Dow Texas Operations recently met with site leadership.
Community Opinion Survey
Every two years, Dow contracts with a third party to conduct a community-wide survey to better understand community perceptions. The most recent survey, conducted in October 2004, showed the five most important issues for southern Brazoria County residents are jobs/economy, education, taxes, health care and pollution. Overall impressions of Dow Texas Operations and the contributions that it makes to the community have remained fairly stable over the past six years.
Texas Operations EH&S Performance
In 1996, Dow's Environment, Health & Safety stretch goals for 2005 were set. Included were goals related to reductions in injury and illness rates, loss of primary containment events, process safety incidents and motor vehicle incidents. Texas Operations has made significant improvements in each of those areas since the baseline year of 1994.
