Brazosport College

For more than 30 years, Brazosport College has brought access to higher education to the Brazosport community. Located in the Lake Jackson-Clute area, BC graduates more than 200 students annually, and has become the key provider of a highly trained local workforce for industry employers in Brazoria County.

For students seeking a certificate or degree in an occupational/technical field, BC offers courses leading to an Associate of Applied Science degree in 22 areas, including process technology. Dow now requires all new process operator hires to have a Process Technology degree.

Dow Texas Operations is continually striving to bring new business to Freeport by working to be the most competitive - "Best Integrated Site for Business Success" in The Dow Chemical Company. A critical component of that vision is a highly skilled workforce. Dow is working to make everyone aware of the increasing need for a learning mindset and the growth of competitive skills, while supporting the appropriate training and educational opportunities.

Dow has been a major supporter in BC's quest to address the diverse educational goals of the community. In recent years, Dow has contributed $2.5 million to the building of a new Business and Industry Training facility, featuring a corporate learning and child development center, and $10,000 to the WISE Endowment, supporting student scholarships.
