April 2004 CAP Meeting

The Community Advisory Panel (CAP) to Dow Texas Operations recently held its April meeting. Following a CAP member's suggestion, Linda Bartholome, Site Responsible Care Leader for Texas Operations, gave an overview of the integration of the 75 plants in Freeport.

The integration is managed through the Raw Materials Center (RMC), which continuously monitors 20,000 points across the Freeport site. The RMC allows for better management of planned and unplanned events across the site. Integration provides Dow opportunities to leverage common assets across the plants, by-product synergy, operational flexibility, conservation of energy and lower distribution costs.
