Dow Employees Generous with Toys to Needy Children
Plaquemine, Louisiana - December 11, 2007
Hundreds of toys were collected by Dow LAO employees during the 2007 Dow Toy Drive held recently. Dow and contract employees at Dow’s Louisiana Operations in Plaquemine donated hundreds of toys for needy children during this year's annual toy drive. Participants filled 59 barrels with toys and collected approximately 24 bicycles of various sizes. Participants also contributed over $3,700 in monetary donations, which will be used to purchase new toys as well.
Needy families that will receive toys were identified by the Iberville Parish School Board and by Santa’s Helpers in West Baton Rouge Parish, in partnership with the WBR Parish School Board.
"It's amazing to see the Dow employees and contractors come together for this wonderful cause," Toy Drive Chairperson Renee Mayeux said about the 2006 Dow Toy Drive. "Their generosity will help the children in our community have a Christmas to remember."
