Gretchen LeBlanc Named Site Responsible Care Leader for Dow Louisiana Operations

Plaquemine, Louisiana - November 29, 2007

Gretchen LeBlanc was recently named Responsible Care^® Leader for Dow’s Louisiana Operations site in Plaquemine. In this role, LeBlanc will be responsible for the overall safety, environmental, and compliance performance of the site. She will also lead the site’s efforts in achieving Dow’s 2015 Sustainability goals. LeBlanc will report to Sharon Cole, site director of Louisiana Operations and Dana Mathes, Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) Operations director.

LeBlanc began her career with Dow in 1981 as a summer intern and then joined the site’s R&D facility as a research engineer. Early assignments included Technical Service and Development for several product lines. In late 1985 she changed roles to support the Louisiana Gasification Technology, Incorporated (LGTI) Coal Gasification effort where she served in several capacities including lab and environmental supervisor, production supervisor and production leader. In 1994 she accepted a production leadership assignment to consolidate the Caustic 1 and Chlor-Alkali 2 departments into one unit, while serving concurrently as the business manage production work process leader.

LeBlanc became the site’s Energy Systems production leader in 2000 and has been a significant contributor to the Plaquemine Energy Systems and the global Energy business, particularly through her lead role on the Operations Excellence Team.

LeBlanc received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Louisiana State University in 1981 and is also a graduate of the Thunderbird International Consortium Program and Leadership West. She and her husband Irvin “Bubbie” LeBlanc, Jr. are residents of Port Allen where they are both very involved with local schools and community activities.
